Tuscany is bound to the north by Crowchild Trail, Stoney Trail to the east, Nose Hill Drive to the south and 12 Mile Coulee Road to the west. Developed in the 1990s, Tuscany is made up of of single family homes, condos, townhouses and many newer developments, with a total real estate market of around 6,500 homes. It's a larger community with many smaller neighbourhoods within, home to over 19,000 Calgarians.
There are three schools in the area, Twelve Mile Coulee Middle School, Tuscany Elementary School and St. Basil Catholic School. Residents favourite spending time at Crowfoot Shopping Center and the YMCA located on John Laurie Boulevard NW. Along Tuscany's south-east side is a long stretch of ravine parkland that follows Stoney Trail, and winds up into the north part of the community across Tuscany Boulevard.
At the heart of Tuscany is the Tuscany Way and Tuscany Boulevard intersection, where you'll find a buzzing commercial area with plenty of shops, services and restaurants, including a Sobeys, banks, cafes, and a community pub. Along the south side of Tuscany and Nose Hill Drive is an expanding commercial area, with a Home Depot and restaurants. Tuscany's location at the north-west edge of Calgary makes it an ideal home for people who love frequent escapes to the mountains: Just jump right onto the highway and you'll be there in no time!
